Shane English School Thailand Opens New School in Phitsanulok

shane-thailand-phitsanulokStudents and parents in Phitsanulok were very excited about the opening of a Shane English School branch there this weekend as Shane is the first language school of its kind in Phitsanulok. Our professionalism, effective teaching techniques, and fun and interesting classes were marketed well and validated through our demonstration days, which went down very well.

While Tom (Director of Studies) and Nicole, the new teacher, did their best to impress the new students; Chakra and Rose (the franchise school's owners) were looking immaculate and did awesome work signing up the students and were helped by other staff from Shane English School Thailand.

Due to the hard work and planning put into the event, the two days were a great success with four classes already planned to start this weekend. We look forward to working with the Phitsanulok branch in the future and helping them to grow and to fulfil the school's promises to their students.

Shane English School Thailand Opens New School in Seacon Square, Bangkok

shane-thailand-seacon-square-bangkokShane English School in Thailand is delighted to announce the opening of their newest franchise school last weekend on January 10th and 11th. The new Shane Franchise owners, Chanin and Thawunnagun have chosen to open their branch in Seacon Square, a vast and very popular department store to the south-east of Bangkok. It already has an ‘Education Zone’ with several established schools and dance studios, etc.

For the opening days Chanin and Thawunnagun gave out free candy floss and balloons. The new teachers played games with the children and level-checked those who wanted to sign up. Tom Helps (Director of Studies) put on demonstration classes and the Thai staff were all involved in marketing and advising prospective students and their parents on the advantages of having a Shane education.

We are very excited and proud as this is the first of the new schools planned for January. Within the next two weeks we will be opening a branch in Phitsanulok and another in Chonburi. We'd like to welcome all the new staff, teachers and franchise owners who will be working with us over the coming years.

Shane English School China's Christmas Charity Project

SESC-Christmas-Charity-ProjectThroughout December Shane students from around China took part in a traditional British pastime, while at the same time raising money to help a good cause.
Students from our Shanghai schools got creative in the run up to Christmas and submitted designs for traditional Christmas cards. The winning entries were then turned into a professionally-produced set of six cards, which were then sold to Shane students and parents in our franchises across China, so students could wish all their friends a Merry Christmas, while helping our annual Yunnan charity project.

All proceeds from the cards went directly to helping some of the most needy students in China. After raising a considerable amount to rebuild schools in the aftermath of the 2013 Yunnan earthquake, Shane English School China continued to support these schools and the hundreds of students affected by providing new classrooms and sports equipment.

SESC would like to extend its thanks to all students who submitted designs, and of course to everyone who took part by buying and sending Shane’s own Christmas cards. Your continued efforts are greatly appreciated.

Shane Beijing's Xmas Party!

sesb-xmas-party-2014Students and teachers had a great time this Christmas at Shane English School Beijing, and even their families joined in the festivities!

Groups were divided according to age range: 3 - 5 year olds joined the Baby Group, 6 - 9 year olds joined the Childrens’ Group, and those over 10 years old joined the Youth Group. Our hardworking teachers brought out the games they had prepared, and families enjoyed well-known games such as “Pass the Parcel”, and lesser-known games such as “Santa Dress-Up Relay”…
Songs such as “The Twelve Days of Christmas” were also sung.

The kids all joined our Christmas lottery and got party packs, after which, it was photo-time!
Along with all the teachers involved, organisers Andrew and Emma deserve a pat on the back for a thoroughly successful day.

Festive Fun at the Shane English Christmas Family Fayre

sest-xmas-party-2014Children, parents and teachers all had a wonderful Christmas time on an (almost) frosty Saturday morning last week, at the Shane English Christmas Family Fayre. As the nearby Taipei 101 glittered like a Christmas tree, children from Muzha, Wenhua and Chang Long kindergarten schools performed some festive favourites such as Jingle Bell Rock, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Merry Christmas Everyone, Little Saint Nick, and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.

Aerobics group YTL led everyone through some fun dancing and competitive games. The kids all got excited, and the dads all became exhausted. After that, our hardworking teachers brought out the games they had prepared, and families moved around the hall, enjoying games such as the gift-stacking race, pin the red nose on the reindeer, and throw the snowball through the snowman. I myself excelled at the Christmas-bauble and spoon race.

We all enjoyed another sing-song at the end, and the teachers even gave an impromptu dance performance during Frosty the Snowman.
